    Travel Guide for Croatia

Croatia has been on my list of places to visit since 2013. I was dying to go on Sail Croatia even though I had no sailing experience. I wanted to go island hopping, check out the historic cities and swim in the Adriatic sea. At the time I also wanted to be part of the party crew that got to wear a Croatia sailing hat. Fast forward five years later, too old to jump abroad a party boat, I finally booked my trip to Croatia. Travel planning has always been a passion of mine. I enjoy making a full itinerary, finding good places to eat and making sure I get to see…

    Tofino for the Weekend

As a British Columbia resident, I am slightly embarrassed by how little I have explored my wonderful province. Our weekend trips are usually to Squamish, Whistler or the Okanagan. Salt Spring and Tofino have been at the top of my list for quite some time. I finally visited Tofino a couple of weekends ago. I fell in love with Tofino immediately, I was already starting to plan my next trip there before we even left. How to Get to Tofino By car: 5 hours 3 minute trip from Vancouver. You can take the ferry from Horseshoe Bay to Nanaimo and then drive to Tofino By air: 45 minute flight from…

    Travel Guide for Honolulu

Hawaii has been filling up my Instagram feed for the last few months. The amazing wildlife, clear blue water and lush mountain ranges, all spoke to me. We finally decided to book a trip in February and I immediately started reading articles and blog posts to find the best spots to visit. Hawaii is unlike any tropical destination that I have ever been to, mainly because it is American. You can get all your creature comforts, Costco, Walmart, Sephora, Urban Outfitters, basically every major retailer you would need. The one thing that makes Hawaii different is the ABC Stores, which are essentially 7-11s with souvenirs thrown into the mix. What…

    Outdoor Fitness Classes in Vancouver

Photo Credit I have finally started to regain my work-life balance, which includes trying to get back into the routine of going to the gym on a regular basis. In the summer, although it is nice to be in an air conditioned gym, it is also lovely to be in the sunshine. If you want to leak sweat or just have a light stretch there is an outdoor class available.  Liquid Yoga What is better than SUP Yoga? Liquid yoga, because it is in a pool the temperature of bath water! Falling in is quite enjoyable and you don’t have the waves to contend with. Balancing is still quite challenging…

    My Guide to Los Cabos

If you were a Laguna Beach fan like me, you would remember the episode when Kristen says “What happens in Cabo, stays in Cabo.”, and of course they have a wild and crazy spring break adventure. Cabo was not my first choice for a destination vacation, but the timeline worked; my boyfriend and I had both never been and it was a hot destination to getaway from the most intense Vancouver winter. Our trip overlapped with American spring break, so we did have a couple James Franco “Spring Break forever” moments, however I am not complaining at all, we had a wonderful trip.  San Jose Vs. San Lucas If you know…

    Fun Date Ideas in Vancouver

Last night I did a search for date ideas in Vancouver and I was fairly disappointed, all the lists consists of the usual suspects, the Aquarium, going for a walk around the seawall or going to a comedy club, not exactly an incredibly localized list, so I decided to compile some of my favourite spots and date ideas.    Eating Out A dinner date doesn’t have to be boring, I usually like to go ethnic with my meal choices for a unique dining experience.  Afghan Horseman Sit on the floor, order a platter and enjoy belly dancing on Friday nights at Afghan Horseman. Just be sure to wear some cute…

    My Summer Bucket List

I have been sitting, waiting, wishing for summer to come. Unfortunately It is hard to believe that it is already here with the bi-polar weather in Vancouver. If anything it has forced me to seize the nice days for adventures and reserve the rainy days for the activities that I can easily enjoy all-year-round. British Columbia is so beautiful and yet I have just begun exploring all it has to offer. Each year I add more and more things on to my to do list in B.C. Get Out on the Open Water In the Okanagan boating is something that you do after work in the summer. In Vancouver, it is…

    Trip Planning – The Philippines

It seemed almost serendipitous, I finally got my boyfriend to agree to go to the Philippines as long as we stop in Vietnam, and naturally a flight deal on YVR Deals with our exact travel arrangements pops up. I force him into making the spur of the moment decision, of booking right away, and now I have commenced trip planning.I have two weeks to spend in the Philippines, so here is my action plan.  Travel I only have a limited amount of vacation days that I can use, so I try to optimize my time by flying. Cebu Pacific and Air Asia both have reasonable rates, although not all destinations have airport,…

    Vacaton Planning: Mayan Riviera

It is always hard to plan a vacation, when you have never been to the place you are visiting. Before I travel, I have usually have a well thought out travel plan. I scour google for tips and read as many blog posts as I can to research the area.  For this trip, I was very busy with work, so I did absolutely no vacation planning.   Although, getting away it always nice and It is hard to complain about hanging out by the pool, and having meals prepared for you around the clock; I do have a few regrets about my decision to neglect planning.   Make a List…

All The Things I Should of Brought to the All- Inclusive

There is always that moment when you are on vacation, and you open your suitcase in disbelief because you completely forgot to pack the most basic items. I continuously bring 7 dinner dresses, yet neglect to pack a brush. Some things are intuitive and others are more of an after thought. Here are all the items I wish I packed before heading to Mexico and the ones I remembered as an added bonus:   A Zip Lock Bag or Small Waterproof Container For day trips, swimming in the ocean or hanging out by the pool. This is a handy thing to have. Having a water resistant place to put cash,…
