Fall Fashion for the Work Day and the Weekend

Fall Fashion 2016

I was living in denial but I finally gave in and embraced the fall weather. I was hoping that if I continued to ignore the change in the weather perhaps it would help to delay the process. Although I am not crazy about the rain, I am excited for a few of the trends that I have seen in the stores. Last year I was obsessed with sweaters, and this year I can’t get enough of the bell sleeve. These are a few items that I picked up as my must haves for the fall season.

Bell sleeves are a trend that cannot be ignored. I wasn’t sure about how I would feel about them, but once I tried a few things on, I fell in love with the look. H & M has a cute and comfy bell sleeve blouse (with not too much of a bell), that looks good with leggings or jeans. I have been really enjoying texture, so my sister and I picked up some suede leggings. Bell sleeve sweater dress can also be dressed up for work, or dressed down on the weekend with over-the-knee boots.

Shirt Dress are an oldie but a goodie. I love dresses because it is so easy to look put together. You literally just need to throw on one item. I personally enjoy all the rich jewel tone colours that have been really popular this fall. Shirt dress are great for the work day and can easily be dressed up with statement jewelry for a dinner date.

Backpacks have been in the spotlight for a couple years, but I finally decided this is the year that I would jump on the trend.I really love gold embellishments with black for the fall and a mix of deep colours. In the summer I am all about bright colour and in the fall I enjoy anything monochromatic.

Ankle Boots are something I love, because they are so versatile. With dark tights and a dress, with jeans or with trousers. I live for comfort so every season I try to find a comfortable but stylish pair an ankle boots that can work for day and night.

A Camel Jacket paired with a deep plum colour scheme is a winning combo in my eyes. I really like that camel looks good with jeans, but also works well with black and grey (the remaining colours of my fall wardrobe). I like the look of the oversized blazer or the waterfall style.

As I get older, I am looking to simplify my life by choosing pieces that are easy to mix and match and that can be dressed up or dressed down. My main concern is comfort, convenience and looking put together. I would love to know what your favourite trends are for this fall season. I can’t believe it is almost November!
