Holiday Outfits by jaemiesures featuring snowflake christmas ornaments
New Years, Christmas parties, family gatherings, there are so many special occasions this time of year to dress up for. Each one requiring a slightly different look. Choosing the right outfit for the right occasion can be a toss-up especially if you are in unfamiliar territory. These are my recommendations for dressing the various events over the holiday season:
Work Party
Depending on the company, work parties can be hard to dress for. Some companies throw formal gathering and some companies tend to be low key. As boring as it is, the little black dress is perfect for a corporate gathering. Shift dresses, with a a statement necklace is a safe bet. I usually try to avoid anything body-con and opt for am empire waist dress or swing dress. If your dress is sleeveless I would recommend pairing it with a blazer just in case you get cold or you feel too exposed.
Friend’s Christmas Party
This can go either way, usually a sparkly sweater and jeans can be adequate, however It is always nice to have an excuse to dress up. I love embellished skirts for the holidays, add some black tights and a nice sweater and it is a nicely put together look. Not to dressed up, but not too dressed down.

New Years Eve
The dreaded countdown. I am not the biggest fan of New Years Eve, I find that there is way too much hype surrounding it. I do, however, enjoy any event that allows for excessive use of sequins. Somehow there is no other time during the year that this seems nearly as acceptable. New Years Eve is the best excuse to go ultra glam for the holidays. I usually only wear my New Years outfit once, so I don’t like to invest a lot of money in it. H & M, Forever21, or Old Navy are all good places to scope out for a bargain statement outfit.
