Skin Care: These are a Few of My Favourite Things

I usually try to stick with the same beauty regime, especially when I find products that work for my skin. I only switch things up if there is a change in the season, or my skin has gotten “used” to a certain product. A while ago I put together a list of the products that I found worked well for my daily routine, some of them I still cycle through but I do like to change things up and try new products so I put together an updated list of all the products that I am loving right now. I picked my top five choices and included how I use them and why I love them. As I get older, skincare tends to be at the top of my priority list, there tends to be way more maintenance involved.

Korres Wild Rose Vitamin C Active Brightening Oil

I was scared of facials oils at first, especially since my skin tends to be oily skin already. However, after doing research I learned that adding oil to your skin can actually help you regulate the natural oils in your skin and reduce excess oil production, again not an expert, just what I learn at the beauty counter.

This product is perfect to transform my dull complexion to be brighter, softer, and smoother. The product is lightweight and absorbs nicely into my skin, I noticed a difference right away when I started using it.

How to Use it

I use this serum for both morning and night. I put the serum on after I tone my skin and before I put on my moisturizer. I usually like to give it some time to absorb so I will brush my teeth in between. It is really important to still use a moisturizer to accompany the oil, otherwise, it will start to dry out your skin.

La Roche-Posay Hyalu B5 Hyaluronic Acid

This has been the best product for my combination skin. In the past I have gotten whiteheads under my eyes because my moisturizer is too rich for my skin. This product is the perfect balance of lightweight yet still moisturizing; it is just heavy enough to add moisture but not clog my pores and it helps battle fine lines.

How to Use it

I use this as my daily morning moisturizer. Unfortunately, it does not have SPF, so I do a 50/50 combination using an SPF when I apply it in the morning. I have yet to try it throughout the winter season, so I may be able to omit the SPF.

Zo Skin Health Complexion Renewal Pads

As someone who never really exfoliates, this product works wonders on my skin, especially because exfoliation is key to remove dead skin cells and prevent congestion that can lead to breakouts. It is nice to have this option to accompany my weekly dermaplanning. I also love these because when I am lazy, I will skip washing my face and just do a quick wipe ( we all have those days). My skin has never been so clear!

How to Use it

I cut these in half so I can get the most out of them. I use this product morning and night right after I wash my face with a gentle cleanser. I have fairly tough skin so I don’t have it too abrasive to use it twice a day. If you do find your skin getting sensitive, I would recommend only using it at night.

Zo Skin Health Gentle Facial Cleanser

I am in love with this cleanser, it removes all the impurities from my skin, and it is also so gentle and effective. Any of my girlfriends who have stayed at my home and used it have raved about it.

How to Use it

This is great as a daily facial cleanser. I use it morning and night. I will remove my eye make up and then wash my face with this cleanser.

Truskin Naturals Vitamin C Serum

I read an article saying that this was a miracle product from Amazon so I had to try it. It is amazing, especially for the summer months.

How to Use it

I use this serum every night and it really helps with any sun damage I have and any spots. I usually will use roughly half of the eyedropper and then followed by my night time cream.

Final Round-Up

There is always a new skincare trend, fab or advancement in technology, so I usually like to test them out and share my experience. Sometimes my staples do stand the test of time and sometimes the latest and greatest exceeds my expectations. If there any skincare products that you are raving about, let me know in the comments below, I am always open to trying new products.
