Summer Essentials: Add these to your shopping cart

Everything you need to make the most of the summer season.

Summer is by far my favourite season, it is no secret that I live for the beach. Most weekends I spend the majority of my time outside working on my tan. As a seasoned summer lover, I did a round-up of all my essentials, especially because outside adventures seem to be the main source of entertainment right now.

My Summer Essentials

Hexagonal Flat Lens Sunglasses

A good dupe for the Ray-Ban Hexagonal Flat Lenses with a way nicer price tag. These retail for under $20, are super compact and are polarized! I keep these in my purse for afternoons out on the patio or in my beach bags for days out on the water. I am heavily influenced the majority of my friends to also purchase a pair. I am pretty sure they look great on everyone.

White Bathing Suit

White is my go-to once I have already gotten a base tan. I wore this Vitamin A Swimsuit on my trip to Jamaica and I got so many questions about it. It is the perfect cut to wear with shorts and it is thick enough that it is not see-through. An added bonus, Vitamin A is also a sustainable clothing brand, so that helps justify the price tag.

I recently discovered Monday Swimwear. Their suits are specially designed to fit up to a bust size G which is really refreshing. I have a hard time finding bathing suit tops that fit, so I usually end up opting for one-piece swimsuits instead. I got the Clovelly Top and Riviera bottoms this season. I loved the support of the underwire and the high waisted fit. Since it has been my go-to for most of the summer, I decided to splurge and get a suit in their caramel rib colour as well.

Portable Chair

I used to be a beach blanket girl but as I get older, I can definitely see the benefit of having a chair in tow. These woven chairs from Lezher are aesthetically pleasing and functional. They are made locally in Vancouver with so many cute designs. I love the floral patterns and the wooden frame.

Basic Baseball Cap

There is nothing I hate more than logos, so this hat is perfect for me. It is a good basic. I throw it on after a sweaty day at the beach, a day out hiking or just for a bad hair day. I got a few colours from LiftDownHats. I am generally just drawn to the classic black though cause it goes with most outfits and I like the distressed casual vibe.

Backpack Cooler Bag

My main source of transportation in the summer is my bicycle. I bike most places, so having a backpack cooler comes in handy so I can have cool beverages on long beach days. It is also way easier to transport on a bike than a cooler would be. Every time I roll up to the beach with my cooler bag, someone comments on what a great idea it is.
