Home Tour – My Living Room
The coziest room in my home, after my bedroom, of course. A look into my bohemian-inspired living room. This is typical of me, but after I finished decorating my living room, all I kept thinking is how nice it would be to have been if I had gone with an all-white theme and stuck with neutral colours. I know, so annoying. I can never make up my mind. I think I am too messy for a white couch though. I am the first to admit that I tend to go for design over function, but for a living room, I really wanted it to be comfortable, functional, and have a…

The Perfect Bar Cart
Bar Cart Styling and Bar Cart Essentials for Your Next Cocktail Night When I first started re-organizing my living room, I came to the conclusion that I had just enough room to put a bar cart in my dining area. Considering 2020 had me doing most of my entertaining from home, it seemed like a necessary progression. To be completely transparent, I am in no way an expert at crafting cocktails so this is my beginners guide to stocking your at home bar, while also making it look aesthtically pleasing. As a newbie to the cocktail world, I did extensive research on all the bar cart essentials. My starting off…

My Boho Inspired Master Bedroom
My favourite neutrals, budget-friendly tips, and all the things that make my bedroom cosy. When I first moved into my place it was the opposite of relaxing, there were so many different paint colours and window treatments, it wasn’t speaking to my aesthetic. Over the years, I have been slowly chipping away at making upgrades. Switching out my queen for a king was a pretty bold move for my small space. It also meant finding bedside tables that would allow the switch. To accommodate my growing wardrobe, I had to add in a PAX wardrobe. A drastic closet edit is probably needed, since I have way too many clothes and…

Home Office Decor Ideas
I am revealing how I maximized my small space to accommodate a home office set up Working from home is nothing new for me. I have been primarily a remote worker since 2017. Although a home office can have its perks, I got used to having the occasional work from home day and spending the majority of my time in the office. It was nice to have the separation between home and work. With everything that is going on in the world, it is not surprise that I am now confined to working from home. The first few weeks, I took over my dining table but it really is a…

Save vs. Splurge: My Top Choices for Beaded Chadeliers
When I first moved into my place, I had a vision of what I wanted to my home to look like. I gradually fell out of love with a lot of the pieces I was initially obsessed with having. The industrial feature above my eating area was one of these items. I knew I wanted something different but couldn’t figure out what. I started seeing really pretty beaded chandeliers on Pinterest, I liked that they has a softer look and a boho feel. It took me a long time to find some options that weren’t thousands of dollars and I am pretty happy with the result. My Inspiration I love the look of this beaded…

My New Home: Final Home Decor Touches
I have been talking about it for months. I have finally had the chance to take some photos of my townhouse fully-renovated and almost completely decorated. The one thing I have come to realize is that decorating is a new ending process. One of the things I love about my new place it that there is so much natural light. Quite a few of my favourite home decor pieces are in the living room. I chose pieces that are bohemian with a beachy feel. One of my favourite accessories in the the room, is the chunky knit blanket. I found some similar ones online: Gallery Wall I spent a…

Designing the Perfect Patio Space
The minute the sun came out, I knew it was time to set up my outdoor space. Like most people living in Vancouver, instead of having luscious green space, most of us have to settle for a small balcony. Since moving from my condo to a townhouse we were fortunate enough to also upgrade to a larger outdoor footprint. I have never been more excited, all I need is for the rain to stop so I can enjoy it. Limited space means a carefully thought-out layout and intention for the space. I knew these four things were important to me, lighting, privacy, comfort and of course space to BBQ! Check out…

Feeling at Home in a New Place
“Home is where ever I am with you” It has taken a couple months to feel settled into my new place. After countless stressful days at work and then late nights organizing this unfamiliar space, I was feeling mentally and physically exhausted. At the end of a long evening, all I could think about was how I wanted to go back home, which was no longer an option. Now that we have fully moved in and for the most part unpacked all our boxes my new place feels less like a stranger’s home and more like my own home. These are a few things that I found helped me make…

My Favourite Things in My New Home
Must haves for a new home by jaemiesures featuring colorful wall art My credit card has recently experienced some intense abuse over the last few months. It took a while for my new place to feel like home, so I made nesting a top priority. It is really the small details that make your space feel like a home. Sorry about the overwhelming amount of home decor posts, but this is my latest obsession. Rug From Urban Outfitters I had been looking for a rug for quite some time. I wanted a pop of colour and colouring that would tie in all elements of the room. When I came…
